RENTON, Wash. -- Marshawn Lynch isnt expected to be present for the first day of the Seattle Seahawks training camp, close friend and former teammate Michael Robinson said Thursday. Appearing on NFL Network, Robinson said he spoke with Lynch and Seattles star running back plans to hold out of the camp that begins Friday. "I really think he just wants his position in the organization and how they view him, he just wants that recalibrated a little bit," Robinson said on NFL Network. "Hes been the face of the franchise, hes been the face of the organization." At dispute is Lynchs contract. Lynch can make up to $5.5 million this season in base pay and roster bonuses. Its the third year of a four-year contract Lynch signed with Seattle before the 2012 season. Lynch nearly skipped Junes mandatory minicamp because he wants the final two years of his contract reworked. He ultimately showed to avoid a hefty fine, but did not participate with what coach Pete Carroll said was an ankle issue. Lynch was not present for Seattles organized team activities during the off-season. Seattles plan is to make sure Lynch is healthy for the season opener against Green Bay on Sept. 4, which would mean a very light load of carries during training camp and the preseason. Even though the Seahawks staff expressed during the off-season getting more carries for reserves Robert Turbin and Christine Michael, Carroll reiterated during minicamp that Seattles run game begins with Lynch. "We have rested him a lot in the off-season. He takes a big pounding during the year. It takes him a long time to get his body back to where he doesnt feel the rigours of the season thats past," Carroll said in June. "In this case its unique but he is a unique player and he has a unique role on our football team, so we have to do what we have to do to take care of him." Robinson said he believes that Lynch will eventually play this season. "I think Marshawn will be playing football this year. I dont know how theyre going to get it done, I dont know how theyre going to make it work but that team is not the championship team that they can be without Beast Mode," Robinson said. Lynch can be fined for missing training camp and hes shown the past being adverse to losing money via fines. Last season, Lynch begrudgingly began speaking to the media during the playoffs in an effort to avoid hefty financial penalties from the league. That included memorable sessions during Super Bowl week where he answered questions for about 20 combined minutes during three days of league-mandated media availability. Tulowitzki homered, had two doubles and drove in three runs to lead the big-hitting Colorado Rockies to an 8-5 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks Monday night. "Hes one of the best players in baseball, so you expect that," Rockies left fielder Carlos Gonzalez said. Led by Tulowitzki, baseballs best offence roughed up Wade Miley (2-3) for seven extra-base hits in the first six innings, including a pair of homers. Tulowitzki, who went 1 for 12 in a three-game series against the Dodgers, doubled in each of his first two at-bats and led off sixth with his sixth homer. Justin Morneau added a two-run shot later in the inning to extend his hitting streak to 12 games and Nolan Arenado had one of Colorados six doubles to stretch his hitting streak to a baseball-best 18 games. The Rockies had 12 hits overall, eight of those for extra bases. Franklin Morales (3-1) allowed four runs in five innings and LaTroy Hawkins worked a perfect ninth for his eighth straight save. "We played good offensive baseball tonight," Rockies manager Walt Weiss said. "Tulo had a (great) night and we played well offensively." It made for a rough night for the Diamondbacks. Arizona had the hitting. Gerardo Parra homered, Miguel Montero drove in two runs and Paul Goldschmidt had three of the Diamondbacks 10 hits. After some early-season struggles, Arizona had gotten four straight quality outings from its starters, who had allowed four earned runs in the previous 26 innings. "Those guys are swinging well right now and I didnt get the job done. It was on me." Miley allowed seven runs on 10 hits for his first lost (7-1) in 10 career games against the Rockies. The Diamondbacks tried to keep up against Morales. Parra hit a solo homer in the second inning, and Arizona added two more runs in the third on Monteros sacrifice fly and a run-scoring single by Aaron Hill. Goldschmidt tied the game at 4-all on a groundout in the fourth. Morales allowed seven hits. Arizona cut the lead to 7-5 on Monteros run-scoring single in the seventh inning, but Charlie Blackmon made it a three-run lead again with a sacrifice fly in the ninth.
